Interstress Structural Ltd. originated as a partnership in the late 1970’s and became a limited company in 1982.
Based on previous experiences gained in the construction industry, the partners branched out into restoration repairs of foundations and concrete structures. Since specialized restoration companies were new to construction, Interstress became involved in repairs to damaged structures, waterproofing and leakage control. These repairs included work in Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon and North West Territories.
In the 1980’s, a segment of interstress became involved with the Alberta Research and National Research Council developing and researching products that were new to the construction repair industry in Canada. Many of these products are common to today’s restoration industry.
During the 1980’s, Interstress Structural Ltd. also became heavily involved in large and small grouting projects with epoxy and chemical rapid repair grouts, cementitious grouts and ultra high strength concrete products. Our projects involved work on dams, tunnels, bridges, overpasses, parking decks and structures as well as ski lift line foundations and anchoring.
True to our original residential repair roots. Interstress Structural Ltd. is still involved in residential repairs to concrete, waterproofing and structural crack restoration. With the evolving of Interstress Structural Ltd., we have been at the forefront of new products, equipment, technology and research that we can share to provide the best and most cost-effective repairs possible.
During the 1980’s, through to the present, Interstress Structural Ltd. has been retained as consultants by oil and energy companies, insurance companies, real estate companies, engineering and construction firms as well as condominium boards.
